Bryn Mawr Pediatrics

Frequently asked questions

Are you accepting new patients?
Yes, we welcome new patients.

Do you accept my health insurance plan?
Our office participates with most major insurance plans. We do recommend that you contact your insurance company to verify our participation.

What hospitals are you affiliated with?
We are on staff at Bryn Mawr Hospital

What is your policy for scheduling appointments?
Physical, recheck, and vaccine only appointments are made in advance. Sick appointments are given the same day. If your child is ill, we would like to see them that day to get your child on the road to recovery.

How far in advance should I schedule my child's well exam?
For children under two years of age we strongly recommend making your next appointment at the time of your visit. For all other ages, it is best to set up your child's next well child check up at least 2-3 months in advance.

Will my child always see the same doctor when they come to the office?
For well child visits and most sick visits each pediatrician will care for their own patients. However, it is possible that due to emergencies or absence from the office, one of the other pediatricians may see your child. In the case of urgent visits the provider in the office or physician on call will see your child.

How does your office handle school/sports/camp/daycare forms that need to be completed and signed?
If your child is up to date on their regular well child check ups, we are happy to fill out forms for school, sports, daycare, or camps. Forms can be dropped off or mailed to our office and when completed they can be picked up or mailed to your home.  Please have forms filled out in its entirety. There are fees for filling out forms which are listed in our office policy. Most forms are completed within a few business days.

How do I get a prescription refilled?
Allow one to two business days for all routine prescription refills. Most pharmacies will fax us a refill form if you call them.  For prescriptions that require prior authorization from your insurance company, please plan ahead to allow at least three to five days for refill approval.
Please note: stimulant medications used to treat ADD or ADHD cannot be called into the pharmacy.

What if I need to speak to a Physician after hours?
There is always a physician on call. Please call our office 610-642-9609 and our service will connect you to the physician on call.
Please be aware that after-hours calls are intended for urgent medical issues that cannot wait until the next business day.
As of January 2017 we will be changing our evening and weekend cross coverage to Gordon-Klinow Pediatrics. Dr. Rebecca Druash will continue to cross coverage with us.
For life-threatening emergencies please dial 911.
